If you've spent a cold morning on the chairlift at Mission Ridge or a long day on the trails above Wenatchee, you already know the appeal of real, deep warmth. An infrared sauna is one of the simplest ways to get it. At Regen + Wellness, our social performance wellness club at 105 South Mission St, the infrared sauna is one of the most popular stops on a recovery visit, whether you're a lifelong sauna fan or have never sat in one.

This guide explains what infrared sauna is, how it differs from a traditional sauna, what your first session will feel like, and how to fit it into a day pass.

What Is an Infrared Sauna?

A traditional sauna heats the air around you, often to very high temperatures. An infrared sauna uses infrared heaters that warm your body more directly, so the air can stay a bit cooler while you still feel heat soak in. Many people find that gentler air temperature makes it easier to relax and stay in comfortably.

You'll still sweat, and you'll still walk out feeling warm all the way through. The experience is simply a little less intense on your lungs and face than a classic high-heat sauna, which is why many first-timers prefer it.

Why People in Wenatchee Love the Infrared Sauna

North Central Washington is an outdoor community. People ski and snowboard at Mission Ridge, hike Saddle Rock and the Sage Hills, ride the foothills trails, and run along the Apple Capital Loop. Visitors come through on the way to Leavenworth and Lake Chelan. All of that adds up to bodies that work hard and appreciate a warm place to slow down.

Members tell us they use the infrared sauna to:

  • Warm up after a cold day outside, especially during ski season.

  • Relax and unwind at the end of a long workday.

  • Pair heat with cold for a hot and cold contrast routine.

  • Take a mental break. Quiet time in the heat is a great reset from screens and schedules.

Research on infrared sauna is still developing, so we keep our claims simple: most people find it relaxing, comforting, and an enjoyable part of a regular wellness routine.

What to Expect at Your First Infrared Sauna Session

Before you go in

Check in at the front desk and let us know it's your first time. Wear a swimsuit or comfortable workout clothes, bring a towel, and drink some water before your session. Avoid a heavy meal right beforehand.

During your session

Sit or recline and breathe normally. The warmth builds gradually, and most people start sweating within several minutes. You're always in control: if you feel too hot, light-headed, or uncomfortable, step out, cool down, and drink water. There's no reason to push through discomfort.

After your session

Cool off slowly, rehydrate, and give yourself a few minutes before heading back out into the cold. Many people finish in our cacao coffee lounge, or head to the cold plunge for a contrast round.

How Long Should You Stay In?

Our Supercharged day pass includes a 40-minute communal infrared sauna window. That doesn't mean you need to stay in for the entire time. First-timers often start with a shorter stretch, step out to cool down and hydrate, and go back in if they feel good. Over future visits, you'll learn what feels best for you.

Infrared Sauna and Cold Plunge: Hot and Cold Contrast

Alternating heat and cold, often called contrast therapy, is one of the most requested routines at the club. A simple approach is a sauna session, a short cold plunge, a break to rest and warm up naturally, and then repeat if you like. If you've never plunged before, read our guide to your first cold plunge in Wenatchee before your visit.

Which Day Pass Includes the Infrared Sauna?

The infrared sauna first appears in the Supercharged day pass ($99), which includes a 40-minute communal infrared sauna, 10 minutes of ozone therapy, and everything in Basic Plus, including the communal cold plunge. If you'd rather sweat in private, the Supercharged Privacy Relief pass ($199) lets you choose a communal or private sauna and plunge and adds a B12 shot.

For reference, here's what our day passes include at the entry levels: Basic ($39) covers the gym, 30 minutes of compression, 15 minutes of standing red light, whole body vibration, and a massage gun. Basic Plus ($69) adds a 15-minute communal cold plunge, the coffee and tea lounge, a 15-minute massage chair, a 15-minute Woojer vibroacoustic sound bed, and 10 minutes of Halo salt therapy. Supercharged ($99) adds a 40-minute communal infrared sauna and 10 minutes of ozone therapy. Supercharged Privacy Relief ($199) lets you choose a communal or private plunge and sauna and adds a B12 shot.

Our higher tiers, Ultimate Pain Relief ($279), Superhuman ($349), and Royal Unrestricted ($449), layer in services such as infrared laser, PEMF, vitamin shots, the hot tub, steam sauna, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Inclusions vary by pass, so call 509-888-2918 or ask at the front desk to confirm which pass includes the service you want.

What about memberships?

If you think the sauna will become a regular habit, a membership is usually the better value. Membership details and pricing aren't published online. Stop by the club at 105 South Mission St or call 509-888-2918 and our team will walk you through the options and help you pick what fits your routine.

Who Should Check With a Doctor First?

Heat places real demands on your body. If you're pregnant, have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, take medications that affect heat tolerance, or have any ongoing health condition, talk with your doctor before using a sauna. Skip the sauna if you've been drinking alcohol or feel unwell.

Tips for a Great Sauna Visit

  • Hydrate before and after your session.

  • Start shorter than you think you need.

  • Bring a friend. We're a social club, and sauna time is better with company.

  • Plan extra time to relax afterward instead of rushing back outside.
